Under New York State law, children with disabilities are entitled to the same services provided by their local school district regardless of whether they attend a public school or a religious & independent school. Moreover, all parents are entitled to the same “due process” rights when challenging the school district provision of services. The NYS Board of Regents, however, continues to consider a regulation that would eliminate these due process rights of parents who enroll their children in Catholic and other independent / religious schools. Legislation has been introduced to prevent the Regents from adopting their proposal, but we need your help in getting the legislation enacted. Add your voice to help protect the rights of Catholic school families!
